Virginia's New River Watershed Roundtable

New River at Eggleston by Dan Sable

  •   New River Water Watchers, the New River Citizen Water Quality Monitoring Program, is looking for volunteers. See the Projects/Programs page for more information about the program and how to get involved.

  • New River Symposium, "Bridging the Gaps: Collaborations for Sustainability" will be held May 21-23, 2009 at the Broyhill Inn & Conference Center on the campus of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. The symposium will once again celebrate the social, economic, and scientific value of the New River, bringing together the river's diverse constituents and providing a forum for partnership, research, and policy development. This year's theme builds on the multi-disciplinary history of the New River community by focusing on the importance of sharing widely varied perspectives, needs, and solutions to promote a unified, achievable vision for the future of the New River.
